Caerfai Bay, Pembrokeshire

This small bay is just south of St David’s in the south west corner of Pembrokeshire. From the A487 you need to take the road signposted to Caerfai, and after a short drive along this narrow road you’ll find a parking area just past the campsite (it overlooks the sea, so you can’t miss it!).
From the car park you need to follow the path east down to the bay. It’s a short, but steep walk - which is fine on the way down, but a bit of a slog getting back up again!
Once you are down in the bay it’s quite a narrow opening, which faces south/south west. So to have any hope of seeing the sun you’ll need to visit in the middle of winter at sunset. You also need to watch the tide, as there’s very little beach at high tide, limiting your viewpoint options even further.
